Life at the bottom of a rabbit hole

U may not be Alice but then who cares, since u are at the bottom of a rabbit hole u may as well be.
As u stare up there is a bright patch of sky somewhere way up there. A spark of sunlight. A fluffy cloud…
Somewhere down below there is a warm lil’ feeling. Hello little rabbit Hello…
Puzzled innocent eyes Ah the Mad hatter hasn’t met u
Shyness… do I see a hint of shyness.. Ah the Cheshire cat…
Don’t worry little rabbit. It’s a strange life –be it in here or out there
The furry warmth of the burrow, the hopeful dreams settling on droopy eyelids so much peace… home… peace.
Safe… Safe… Safe…
The raging streak of a mad dash across the meadow.. The slicing freshness of the wet grass blades… the gentle brush of the first dandelions.
Owls, hawks foxes- A ball of fear …and yet the beckoning circle of sky
A tiny patter of rabbit feet disappear into the distance. You run faster and faster after the dimming echoes. The circle of sky looms larger and larger.
Rabbit feet bound across the green meadow… No feeding today … Just a wild bound across the grassy plain.
Silent swoops death from the heavens.
A mild scuffle…. Soft rabbit hair floating in the wind
Pollen scatters … A thousand new dandelions to come
You walk back down the rabbit hole …
And it feels just as warm and fluffy
It feels yet alive….
